Nvidia has become the first graphics chip manufacturer to reach the capitalization milestone of 2.2 trillion USD.
"We're showing programmers how to escape Nvidia's platform," said Vinesh Sukumar, director of AI and machine learning at Qualcomm.

UXL Foundation, a technology alliance launched in September 2023, has planned to build a new programming platform and toolkit, based on OneAPI – a technology developed by Intel, aimed at programming a variety of AI chips.
"The problem is how to create an open ecosystem in the field of machine learning that can promote performance and be suitable for diverse hardware," Bill Hugo, director of Google's high-performance computing unit.
Reuters said that according to the development roadmap, UXL will announce basic technical specifications in the first half of this year and the final product may be completed in the second half of the year.
Besides the original founding companies, this group is also calling on Amazon, Microsoft and other chip manufacturers to join the "coalition".
The UXL Foundation's project is one of many efforts to eliminate Nvidia's dominance of AI-powered programming software.
Interest in beating Nvidia through software links has been gaining increasing traction since last year.
“The important thing is that people have been using CUDA for over 15 years and using the platform to build other programming code,” commented Jay Goldberg, CEO of financial and strategic consulting firm D2D Advisory.
