In the technology giants’ ongoing push to advance the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), Google has introduced a new image-generation tool.

The Me Meme feature in Google Photos lets users create personalized memes.
Google describes Me Meme as “a simple way to explore creative possibilities from personal photos and create content ready to share with friends and family.” Users can choose from several pre-made meme templates or “upload their own funny photo” as a replacement.

The feature is not currently enabled for all users. A Google representative said Me Meme will gradually roll out to Android and iOS users over the coming weeks.
Once enabled, users can access Me Meme in the Google Photos app by tapping Create in the bottom bar, then selecting Me Meme. The app will then ask them to choose a meme template and add a reference photo. Users can also regenerate the image if they are not satisfied with the result.
According to Google, “Meme” works best with portrait photos that are well-lit, clear, and front-facing.
