Nano Banana Pro — Google’s next step forward

Following the launch of Gemini 3 just days ago, Google has officially introduced Nano Banana Pro (also known as Gemini 3 Pro Image), the company’s most advanced AI image-generation and editing model to date. Built on Gemini 3 Pro’s powerful reasoning foundation, Nano Banana Pro promises not only beautiful images but also a leap in real-world understanding, text accuracy and professional creative control, serving everyone from general users to graphic designers.

Solving the problem of text in images

The power of advanced reasoning and real-time data

According to Google, Nano Banana Pro’s biggest difference from earlier image-generation models is its deep ability to “understand.” By using Gemini 3’s reasoning capabilities, the model can grasp the context, intent and subtle nuances of a user’s request.

Moreover, Nano Banana Pro is directly connected to the vast, continuously updated knowledge base of Google Search. This allows it to create images that are factually accurate. For example, when asked to create an infographic illustrating an Elaichi tea recipe or a chart showing the result of a recent sports match, the AI automatically retrieves accurate data for the design instead of producing random, meaningless images.

Creativity upgraded

Solving the problem of text in images

One of the biggest limitations of current AI image-generation tools is poor text handling, often resulting in font errors, misspellings or chaotic layouts. Google presents Nano Banana Pro as a comprehensive solution to this problem.

Studio-grade control

According to Google, the new model is capable of displaying sharp text with correct spelling and layout, from short taglines to long paragraphs of text in poster designs.

Broad integration and who can use it

Upgraded creative capability: consistency and complexity

For professional designers, consistency is critical. Nano Banana Pro lets users combine up to 14 reference images in a single design. Even more impressively, it can maintain consistent appearance and clothing for up to 5 characters different in the same complex layout.

Transparency commitment

This opens up broad practical applications, from turning hand sketches into finished mockups and converting technical drawings into 3D models to creating fashion image sets or film storyboards with characters that remain consistent throughout.

Studio-grade control: lighting, camera angles and resolution

Beyond automatic image generation, Nano Banana Pro gives users detailed control like a virtual photography studio. Improved local editing (inpainting) features let users select and change any small detail in an image.

Control a scene’s output format to fit multiple platforms, including social media and print
10 |
Change an image’s appearance and feel for different platforms by adjusting its aspect ratio

Users can also adjust overall lighting, such as changing day to night or shifting the direction of sunlight, alter the camera angle and set the focus point to create depth of field (DoF). Finally, high-resolution export at 2K and 4K with multiple aspect ratios ensures that the resulting work serves both social-media publishing and professional printing.

Broad integration and who can use Nano Banana Pro

Google is now deeply integrating Nano Banana Pro into its product ecosystem. Users can choose between the original Nano Banana for quick edits or Nano Banana Pro for more complex designs with higher image quality and better finishing. The following groups can already begin using Nano Banana Pro.

  • General users and students: Nano Banana Pro will roll out globally in the Gemini app when users select “Create images” with the “Thinking” function. Free users receive a limited allowance; once it is used, the system automatically switches to the original Nano Banana model. Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers receive higher limits. In AI Mode in Search, Nano Banana Pro will be available in the US to Google AI Pro and Ultra users. NotebookLM subscribers worldwide will also receive access.
  • Professionals: Google is upgrading image generation in Google Ads to Nano Banana Pro, allowing advertisers worldwide to create and edit images with the latest technology. The feature is also rolling out today to Workspace users in Google Slides and Vids.
  • Developers and businesses: Nano Banana Pro can be accessed through the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, as well as Google Antigravity to create highly visual layouts and user-experience (UX) mockups. Businesses can begin building and deploying at scale today through Vertex AI. The feature will also soon be available in Gemini Enterprise.
  • Content creators: Nano Banana Pro is available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Flow, Google’s AI filmmaking tool, giving creators, filmmakers and marketing teams greater precision and control over each frame and shot.

Transparency commitment and identifying AI-generated images in the Gemini app

In particular, to ensure transparency and information safety, Google promises to attach SynthID — a hidden digital watermark — to every image created by the tool. Users can also upload an image in the Gemini app to check whether it was made by Google AI. The feature starts with images and will soon expand to audio and video.

Alongside SynthID, Google says it will retain a visible watermark, the sparkling Gemini icon, on images created by users on the free and Google AI Pro plans to make AI-generated images easier to identify.

Notably, Google says it recognizes users’ need for a clear visual interface for professional work and will remove the visible watermark from images created by Google AI Ultra subscribers.

With Nano Banana Pro, Google is showing major ambition: it is not merely releasing a new image-generation tool but reshaping visual-content creation and turning AI into a capable, informed and reliable creative partner for every idea.
