Faced with the above situation, the Ministry of Information and Communications will conduct a comprehensive inspection of the social networking platform TikTok.
Director of the Department of Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Information and Communications) Le Quang Tu Do said that TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube are all cross-border social networking platforms.
In addition, it has only exploded in Vietnam in the past 3 years, but Vietnam is currently ranked 6th among the 10 countries with the most TikTok users in the world.
According to records, TikTok is currently one of the most popular social networks in Vietnam. DataReportal data shows that as of February 2023, there are currently about 49.9 million people using the TikTok social network in Vietnam.
The notice also said that the inspection activity is to ensure compliance with the law of this platform during its operations and business in Vietnam.
