1. Buy virtual Likes and Followers

There is a shortcut to getting more likes and followers is to spend some money to buy them.

Your money would be better spent advertising to your lookalike audience or running a contest to increase followers who are actually interested in what you do.

2. Using poor quality images

Instagram is a visual medium, images are extremely important.

Even if you don't have professional photography skills or a high-end camera with top photo quality, try shooting in natural light or against a neutral background.

Finding the right number of posts on Instagram — or any social media platform — is truly a delicate dance in fanpage management.

Too few posts on Instagram increase your risk of losing connection with your customers and being forgotten by them, while posting too often will make them uncomfortable and it will take you more effort.

6. Post boring content

The biggest mistake when posting on Instagram is publishing content that makes customers bored or uncomfortable, or spa content,

Choose a goal to start with and create a strategic plan to achieve it.

8. Inconsistent brand promotion

Your Instagram account is just one part of the entire brand ecosystem.
You can have a website, other social media pages, and maybe even a brick-and-mortar storefront.
Your logo must be on every profile.

Depending on your audience for each platform, there may be slight variations in the type of content you share or your interactions — maybe you post all about memes on Twitter — but overall, all of your platforms should make customers feel connected and identified.

9. Inconsistent identifiers

With every post you make, you're adding one more page to your brand's overall story.

When you look at a brand's Instagram feed, does this story make sense?

If you have multiple people contributing to social content, create a specific guide or brand guideline to help everyone understand the overall brand identity.

10. Not checking spelling

Spelling errors are an inevitable part of the internet.

But the slightest spelling or grammar error can make an otherwise polished piece of writing look careless, sloppy, and unprofessional.

11. Don't use Instagram Stories

Instagram has increasingly understood what their users want, specifically through their new innovations such as Reels, IGTV,...

And marketers must always understand that Stories are an indispensable part of online brand strategy.
By not taking advantage of Instagram Stories, you're wasting your opportunity to reach the 500 million users who use this part of the Instagram platform.

Create more Story content similar to the content on your feed to highlight more types of content on your social networks.

12. Do not interact with followers

Social media is not a broadcast, but a conversation.
If you're not engaging with your followers, you're wasting your platform.

13. Awkward link sharing

Instagram doesn't allow URL links in post content and comments, so posting a long link on a work post will look messy — and like you don't know what you're doing.
